Fuels Crew Lead

The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands is looking for a Fuels Crew Lead who will supervise a 6-person State of Utah crew removing trees and brush in support of fuels reduction projects in communities throughout Southeast Utah. This position will report to the Moab Area Office but will work in communities from the mountains around Price, UT to the desert rivers as far south as Bluff, UT.

Prescribed Fire Crewmember (FFT2) - Seasonal

The Suffolk County Water Authority on behalf of the Central Pine Barrens Joint Planning and Policy Commission is seeking three (3) individuals with experience/qualifications/course work in fire suppression and fire management heavy equipment use or related fields, to serve as a seasonal crew member for Prescribed Fire Operations conducted under the Commission’s comprehensive prescribed fire program for the Central Pine Barrens region

Prescribed Fire Crewmember/Squad Boss (FFT1)

The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking on behalf of the Central Pine Barrens Joint Planning and Policy Commission an individual with experience/qualifications/course work in fire suppression and fire management, heavy equipment operation or a related field, to serve as a seasonal Squad Boss (first line supervisory wildland firefighter) for prescribed fire operations conducted under the Commission’s comprehensive prescribed fire program for the Central Pine Barrens region.

Prescribed Fire Single Resource Boss - Seasonal

The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking on behalf of the Central Pine Barrens Joint Planning and Policy Commission an individual with experience/qualifications in fire suppression and management, heavy equipment operation, and supervision to provide leadership and oversight of prescribed fire management/control crew.

2026 U.S. Forest Service/SCA Wildland Fire Academy Fuels Team - Leader

The U.S. Forest Service (USFS)/Student Conservation Association (SCA) Wildland Fire Academy is an intense fuels reduction training program designed to introduce Field Leaders and Members to the rigors of the Fire & Fuel Programs across the USFS. During the program, Leaders and Members will train, live, and work as a cohesive and dynamic crew on fuels mitigation and fuels reduction projects. Leaders and their crew will be assigned to districts identified as Healthy Forest Restoration Act Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Lands to learn how different National Forests handle the challenges of wildfire mitigation in their respective ecosystems.
