Donation Types

General Donation: You can make a donation of any amount to support AFE programs, including the open access journal Fire Ecology, student activities, conferences and workshops, the Wildland Fire Certification Program, and more.

Bequest Program: AFE will contribute estate planning gifts to the AFE Endowment Fund that was created in 2015 to help plan for long-term stability of the organization. This can be done through wills, trusts, insurance policies, or as direct donations to the organization that are marked for the endowment. Bequests to the endowment will be added to the principal, which will generate interest and annual dividends over time to support AFE programs over time.

Wayne Harrison Memorial Scholarship: We are sad to announce the recent passing of Wayne Harrison, a leader in the fire ecology, prescribed fire, and founding member of AFE. As a lasting contribution to the fire ecology and management community, Wayne's family is partnering with AFE to fulfill his wish of creating a student scholarship to support fire ecology research and management activities internationally.  To donate to this scholarship, complete the form below and select "Wayne Harrison Memorial Scholarship." If you'd like to include a comment, we'll share your thoughts and wishes with Wayne's family.

Mike da Luz Memorial Scholarship: To support student travel to conferences, you can donate directly to the Mike da Luz Memorial Student ScholarshipThis scholarship has helped 4 international students attend fire conferences since 2014, and we are currently raising funds to support student travel to future events, including the 8th International Fire Ecology and Management Congress in Tucson, Arizona this November.
