Employment
As you begin exploring careers, it is helpful to look at position descriptions that sound interesting to you and see what degrees, qualifications, and certifications are required. You can do that by searching the AFE Jobs Board. In addition, many graduate programs offer student assistance through research or teaching assistantships. We frequently share the positions, so keep an eye out on future postings.

Student Conservation Association (SCA) Wildland Fire Academy
The Wildland Fire Academy recruits, hires and trains over 40 young people to complete over 10,000 hours of wildland disaster recovery annually.
The Job Corps Firefighting program has the capacity to dispatch more than 1,000 Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2) qualified Job Corps students nationwide to support wildland fires, all-hazard emergencies, hazardous fuels, and forest health program nationwide.
