Tall Timbers is putting on an S-131: Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1) / Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5) course completely online and virtually instructor-led from November 17 – December 4, 2025, with virtual instructor-led training (VILT) days scheduled for December 3 and/or 4, 2025.
This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to analyze, plan, and implement strategies to manage smoke from prescribed fire and wildland fire. The curriculum emphasizes smoke management techniques, air quality regulations, health and safety issues, and tools for predicting, modeling, and mitigating smoke impacts on the public and transportation corridors.
