The S-230 Crew Boss (Single Resource) course is a blended training designed to provide wildland fire personnel with the foundational knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of a Crew Boss (CRWB), as outlined in the NWCG Incident Position Standards and Position Task Book (PTB) (PMS 350-98 and PMS 311-98).

L-280 blends two days of classroom-based instruction with a third day of field exercises, where students work in small teams to complete a series of problem-solving scenarios as part of the Field Leadership Assessment Course.
