Early career Award
An award initiated in 2020, the Early Career Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of fire ecology and management within first 10 years of their career.
Nominees can work in any area related to fire ecology and management and their contributions may be in research, management, teaching, mentoring, Indigenous fire stewardship, traditional use of fire, applied science, extension, boundary spanning and partnerships, policy, or another area of focus or expertise.
While there is no age limitation for receiving this award, nominees should have graduated or have experienced a career change to the field of fire ecology and management within 10 years prior to nomination. Current students should be nominated for the Student Excellence Awards rather than the Early Career Award.
