Distinguished Leader Award
This award recognizes individuals who are mid-career and have become an exceptional leader in the fire ecology and management. Contributions may be in research, management, teaching, mentoring, Indigenous fire stewardship, traditional use of fire, applied science, extension, boundary spanning and partnerships, policy, or another area of focus or expertise.
While there is no age requirement for receiving this award, nominees should have received their degree or training at least 10 years previously and be at least 10 years from their expected retirement. Those closer to retirement should be nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award.
