Description: A skills focused course designed to prepare the developing fireline supervisor to undertake safe and effective fire management operations.

Hours: 40 hours (24 hours self-paced / 16 hours live/online)

Prerequisites: S-190 Introduction to Fire Behavior
The mission of the Student of Fire Initiative is twofold: deliver high quality training for wildland fire professionals and evaluate the training impact to ensure learning leads to meaningful change. We are a team of fire practitioners, researchers, and educators who are passionate about wildland fire and professional development. We support fire professionals through practical, research informed and field-tested training. We welcome opportunities for collaboration with individuals, agencies, and organizations, both within the United States and abroad, to provide high quality training to those interested in wildland fire.
