Letter Requesting Reconsideration of the 90-day Prescribed Fire Pause

In May, the USDA Forest Service implemented a 90-day pause on prescribed fire on national forest land (see statement here).

On behalf of our members, the Association for Fire Ecology has sent a letter asking the USFS to reconsider the blanket pause, in hopes that prescribed fire may be allowed to continue on national forest lands where safe. The letter is signed by 121 active AFE members and was sent to the USFS Chief on Monday, June 6.
