The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests located in Western Colorado is seeking a Temporary Promotion or Permanent Candidate for the Forests’ Fire Ecologist. The duty station is the Supervisor’s Office in Delta, Colorado but we are also exploring the potential for a virtual position.
The incumbent will be a key leader in our work to develop and implement strategies and tasks to create a more wildfire-resilient ecosystem across a dynamic landscape of different vegetation types and fire regimes that go from sagebrush grasslands to ponderosa pine forests to fire starved lodgepole pine to mixed conifer to treeless alpine.
