Fire and Stewardship Coordinator

The Nature Conservancy is hiring a Fire and Stewardship Coordinator to work in Lebanon, Missouri.

The Fire and Stewardship Coordinator (FSC) will work with conservation partners and private landowners to manage high quality habitats utilizing a variety of land management practices. The FSC will create and maintain positive working relationships within the conservation community as well as members of the public. This is a grant-funded, two-year term position with possible renewal in successive years.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS/AS/Technical or vocational degree in science-related field and one year of related experience in custodial and ecological land management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with natural systems.                    

  • Experience in ecological land management principles.

  • Must be qualified or have equivalent experience as a Fire Fighter Type 2 (FFT2), including Introduction to ICS (I-100), Human Factors on the Fire line (L-180), Introduction to Wild Land Fire Behavior (S-190), Firefighting Training (S-130), and one training burn serving under the supervision of a qualified FFT2.  Requirements for FFT2 can be found at http://www.tncfiremanual.org/firefighter.htm     

  • Experience operating and or repairing various types of equipment and machinery.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
