This coordinator position supports the Mid Klamath Watershed Council's (MKWC) Fire and Forestry program by coordinating environmental compliance and tracking program implementation metrics. While not supervisory, this position is responsible for outlining crew work based on survey compliance needs, as well as providing data management quality assurance and quality control for implementation deliverables. This position will work closely with Karuk GIS department to create implementation tracking tools and support adoption of data management tools across the Western Klamath Restoration Partnership. Primary activities include coordinating with MKWC staff and contractors to fulfill grant tracking and reporting requirements, and coordinating with funders, MKWC staff, partners, and contractors to secure state (CEQA) and federal (NEPA) environmental compliance for MKWC fuels reduction projects. Fuels reduction activities are on public, private and Tribal lands and include: Manual fuels reduction, prescribed fire, and mechanical projects (e.g. chipping, logging). An ideal candidate will have excellent GIS, database management, writing, and interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail and timelines. Candidates should also have experience in fire and forestry restoration in order to understand how grants and compliance relate to our work on the ground. This position requires extensive work in ArcGIS Pro and coordination of data collection and reporting – including providing technical support to field technicians collecting and reporting data.
