LEAF Lab at Texas Tech University
We seek a student to contribute to an NSF-funded program on assessing the variation of fuels attributes as drivers of grassland wildfire behavior. The student will predict fuels characteristics at regional scales using remote sensing, and will assist with experimental fires and contribute to a fire-focused network of land managers and scientists in the Southern Great Plains. Prior experience with remote sensing and/or fire ecology is desirable. Strong, demonstrated interest in at least one of these areas is required. Start date is flexible from January-September 2026. In addition to a $19,000 annual stipend, generous benefits and full tuition remission will be provided.
