Landscaping for Wildfire Resilience
This training series is intended for landscape professionals working in wildfire-prone environments, including landscape architects and designers, landscape contractors, and mitigation contractors.
The curriculum is structured as three progressive 90-minute courses co-instructed by landscape architect Kevin Lyles (Confluent Design) and Lara Thomas (Fire Adapted Colorado) that move from foundational wildfire and Home Ignition Zone concepts toward more advanced topics including retrofit strategies, landscape design tradeoffs, maintenance, and complex site constraints. Rather than functioning as a prescriptive checklist course, the series emphasizes practical decision-making, spatial thinking, and long-term landscape adaptation.
