Introduction to Wildland Firefighting Class

Location: Quincy, CA (with possibility for another locale in Plumas County for the field day)

Dates: 4 days over 2 weekends - May 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th, 2025

Times: Approx. 8 am to 4:30 pm each day

Cost: none

Experience required: none

This is a no-cost, 4 day class that includes National Wildfire Coordinating Group courses:

  • S-130 Firefighter Training (with a field exercise)

  • S-190 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior

  • L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service

Are you interested in being a wildland firefighter, fire-conscious land manager, or a prescribed fire practitioner? Are you a landowner interested in using prescribed fire on your property and want to learn the basics of fire?

This class covers dynamics of a fire crew, how fire behaves in a wildland environment, wildland fire equipment, and more.
