This application is for the 2026 Blackfoot Valley TREX. A main goal of this prescribed fire TRaining EXchange (TREX) is to develop local capacity in the Blackfoot Watershed. While part of our selection criteria will prioritize local cooperators, we welcome applicants from anywhere.

At Blackfoot Valley TREX all participants are expected to serve as a trainee and trainer throughout TREX.  We will all learn and practice, share knowledge, skills, and experience, in a unique hands-on training environment.  The focus will be on fire management, fire ecology, monitoring, and the operational implementation of prescribed fire.

Application closes Friday, March 6th. 

Space and training roles are limited. Successful applicants for Blackfoot TREX will be notified in mid - late March. 

Food and lodging (dinner April 21 through breakfast and a sack lunch May 1) are provided. Participants' home unit is expected to cover participant time and travel costs. 

There is a $300 attendance fee. Local Government Participants are eligible for grant funding to cover this fee.
