New Mentoring Futures Program

The new Mentoring Futures Program builds upon AFE's history of facilitating mentor-mentee relationships. Our aim is to be more deliberate in leadership and mentoring activities and to actively cultivate the future of fire and resource conservation by investing in future leaders.!

 APPLY TO BECOME A MENTEE!

  • Are you seeking input about how to advance your career goals?

  • Are you looking for feedback on research focus areas or on a special project?

  • Do you want to learn more about careers or studies in fire ecology and/or fire and resource management?

  • Do you have complex multidisciplinary management or research issues you need some help understanding?

APPLY TO BECOME A MENTOR!

  • Would you like to invest in the future of fire ecology and resource conservation?

  • Would you like to share your knowledge?

  • Do you enjoy leading others?

  • Do you like problem solving?

  • Do you have time to listen and inspire others?

  • Do you want to influence the next generation of fire ecologists and fuel specialists?

Our expectation is that mentors and mentees dedicate at least 1 hour per month for 1 year to get to know and understand a little about each other; to identify key questions, resources, and professional development opportunities; and to advance tangible outcomes. This program is available for current AFE members.
