The AFE Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Kori Blankenship and Jennifer Fawcett as new board members, who will start their 3-year term this month. Kori Blankenship is a certified fire ecologist with The Nature Conservancy’s LANDFIRE team, combining on the ground experience in forestry and fire with technical expertise in ecological modeling and spatial analysis to support conservation and land management efforts across the U.S. Jennifer Fawcett is an Extension Specialist in wildland fire and a SAFE Advisor at North Carolina State University, working at the intersection of fire science, prescribed fire practice, and community-based education. We'd like to wish a fond farewell to our outgoing board members—Eric Knapp and Courtney Schultz—and many thanks to outgoing President, Paul Hessburg. Paul led the organization for 4 years and continues to show his dedication as a board and committee member. Paul passes the presidential torch to Morgan Varner, Director of Research at Tall Timbers, who will be leading AFE with Vice President, Lenya Quinn-Davidson, Fire Advisor and the Director of UCANR's Fire Network.
