The Association for Fire Ecology is happy to announce a stellar set of 9 award winners for 2022 - congratulations all!

Lifetime Achievement Awards

The 2022 Lifetime Achievement awardees have demonstrated a career's worth of meaningful contributions to expanding our understanding and application of fire ecology, and have inspired and mentored a generation of fire scientists and managers. 

• Harold Biswell Award, presented to Carl Skinner, US Forest Service Retired, for his significant contribution to fire ecology and management in the western United States

• Herbert Stoddard Award, presented to James Furman, US Forest Service, for his significant contribution to fire ecology and management in the eastern United States

• Henry Wright Award, presented to Byron Lamont, Curtin University, Australia, for his significant contribution to fire ecology and management in grasslands and shrublands

• Early Career Award: Aya Brigitte N'Dri Kone, Nangui Abrogoua University (Abidjan, Ivory Coast)

• Early Career Award: Adrian Regos, Forest Science Center of Catalonia, Spain
