Resources for Mentoring Futures Program
Mentoring Agreement
This document is meant to guide your initial conversations and set expectations for your mentoring relationship. Together, you will identify activities to help achieve your intended goals. Keep your timeframe in mind and plan for what you can realistically accomplish in one year.
Mentorship Discussion Topics
This is an optional document with discussion topics to aid conversation in your mentorship pairs.
Tips from past participants of the Program
The biggest obstacle reported for mentors and mentees is scheduling time to meet. We recommend setting a consistent meeting date/time, creating invites for your online calendars, and confirming your schedules at the end of each meeting.
Have a plan and agenda for each meeting and some questions prepared for one another. For example, you might want to focus on one topic per meeting. Or you could plan to report on a task or activity, provide feedback, and determine next steps.
