The branch of Vegetation and Ecological Restoration at Yosemite National Park is looking to fill several forest restoration worker positions.

Crew members will implement forest restoration projects by using chainsaws to cut trees <20 inches in diameter, constructing burn piles, chipping material, assisting with prescribed fires and pile burning, and rehabilitating project sites. Most work is performed in the front-country.
These positions are WG 5 ($22.35 - $26.07 per hour) temporary appointments for one year not to exceed two years starting October 2023. Duty stations are based in El Portal or Wawona. Typical work schedules are 10-hour days Monday through Thursday. Government housing is not guaranteed but is typically provided in El Portal or Wawona. The work can be very physical in nature and temperatures can range from 100+ degrees to freezing. There are boundless recreational opportunities available in Yosemite National Park and the surrounding area such as rock climbing, hiking, observing nature, bicycling, fishing, swimming, skiing, and more.
