The Western Forest and Fire Initiative (WFFI) at the University of Michigan (UM) School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) invites applications for five postdoctoral research fellowships on the following dimensions of wildfire risk:
Individual risk mitigation and adaptation behavior
Social vulnerability and household resilience
Smoke and public health
Community energy resilience
Climate-forest-fire feedbacks
The successful candidates will work with faculty, students, and other postdocs as part of an interdisciplinary research team to understand and develop strategies for managing fire-prone forests and human communities in the US West as an integrated social-environmental system (SES). The positions will begin in the summer or fall of 2022. Applications will be considered beginning March 14, 2022, until the positions are filled.
