Wildland Fire Assistant Region Manager, Washington

The Washington Department of Natural Resources is seeking an innovative and strategic leader to join their team of professionals as the Wildland Fire Assistant Region Manager. The incumbent is someone who is a proven team player, who has experience in fire operations and displays effective organizational management and leadership. Someone with heavy experience in collaboration will be a proven asset, as this position will collaborate with other region employees, the general public, fire service agencies, contractors and other state, county and federal agencies on a routine basis.

The Wildland Fire Assistant Region Manager oversees the region’s wildfire program, ensuring resources are adequately prepared and are capable to respond to wildfires on an approximate 3.7 million acres of state and private forestland within Northeast Region. This position is responsible for implementing and administering the wildland fire protection program and the correction camps program, and making sure these programs are implemented in accordance with state laws and department policies and principles.
