Prescribed Fire Specialist, The Nature Conservancy, California

 The Nature Conservancy in California is hiring a Prescribed Fire Specialist. It is a full-time, three-year termed position based in Northern California.  The Prescribed Fire Specialist (PFS) will play a pivotal role in a new strategic effort to scale up the prescribed fire workforce across California. The PFS will support cooperative burns or Prescribed Fire Training Exchanges (TREX). These events support community and ecological objectives while providing experiential training that builds robust local capacity for fire management and offers fire professionals a holistic perspective on fire management.  The primary responsibilities of the PFS will be to implement collaborative prescribed burn projects and to provide instruction, training, and mentorship to prescribed fire practitioners across California.

This position requires the ability to qualify as a Burn Boss (RxB2) within one year of hire.
