The Student Conservation Association has openings for two fire-related positions.
SCA Team Leader- Winter Women's Fire & Fuels
Program Location: Based near Clemson, SC, with regular travel throughout the eastern/southeastern U.S.
Primary Responsibilities: The Women’s Fire and Fuels Team will work closely with partners at US Forest Service (USFS). This crew of female-identifying members will consist of two leaders and six adult (18+) members. This active season will start with one week of dedicated SCA leader training, a week of leader season prep time, and two weeks of training alongside the team and USFS in chainsaw and wildland fire. This team will be working closely and regularly with two dedicated USFS primary fire employees throughout the season.

Location: Various locations in southern U.S.
Primary Responsibilities: The 2024 Prescribed Fire Teams will work closely with the US Forest Service (USFS). These crews will consist of one leader and four adult (18+) members. This active season will start with one week of dedicated SCA leader training, a week of leader season prep time, and two weeks of training alongside the team and USFS in chainsaw and wildland fire.
