Lecturer in Applied Ecological and Environmental Science

We invite applications for a full‐time, 9 month, annually-renewable non‐tenure track teaching-focused position in applied ecology and environmental science. This position will suit a candidate interested in leading and contributing to popular core courses associated with our Ecosystem Restoration and Forestry programs. SENR's two Forestry specializations (Forest Ecosystem Science and Management and Forestry and Wildlife) are accredited by the Society of American Foresters while our Ecosystem Restoration specialization was only the second in the United States to achieve formal alignment with the Society of Ecosystem Restoration’s professional certification program.

We seek applicants who are passionate about teaching and who are skilled in the delivery of interactive, experiential and field-based courses. The appointee will teach at least six courses or 18 credit hours during the academic year. Less than full time appointments can be negotiated.

Required qualifications: An earned Ph.D. [or an M.S. plus substantive professional experience] in ecosystem restoration, forestry, natural resources, environmental science, or a closely related field. A record of outstanding teaching, experience and a strong commitment to student success. Demonstrable experience in promoting and enhancing Diversity Equity and Inclusion in environmental science teaching and advising.
