The National Park Service is hiring a Fire Management Specialist (Prescribed Fire and Fuels Specialist) to be located in Big Cypress National Preserve in the Fire and Aviation Division.
This is a supervisory position with authority and responsibility 20% of duty time and will perform the following duties:
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates
Program responsibility for prescribed fire, fuels management, fuels monitoring, smoke management, and wildfire response.
Provides professional advice and assistance to meet resource management objectives with prescribed fire, fuels management, and/or wildfire response.
Manage a unit fuels management program.
Plan, implement, and participate fire management activities.
Design and conduct fuels management inventory analyses.
Conduct implementation monitoring for fuels management activities.
Participate in fuels and fire reviews.
