The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is recruiting for an engaged and innovative professional to serve as the Outreach & Content Coordinator for the Living With Fire (LWF) Program. Located in Reno, Nevada, this position reports to the LWF Program Manager.
The Living With Fire Program is a statewide, interagency initiative designed to help Nevadans live more safely in wildfire-prone areas. The Outreach & Content Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the program’s mission by organizing outreach events, developing educational content, building community partnerships, and managing marketing efforts.
Expectations and Responsibilities:
Outreach & Education Coordination
Organize and support community events statewide.
Deliver workshops, facilitate meetings, and respond to outreach requests.
Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
Develop engaging digital content, including podcasts and social media posts.
Marketing & Reporting
Implement program marketing strategies, manage social media, and website content.
Assist in creating publications, proofreading, and reporting program accomplishments.
Ensure branding consistency in collaboration with the CABNR Marketing team.
Graphic Design
Create original designs for educational and promotional materials.
Develop accessible content for publications and digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years of related work experience, or a Master’s degree and one year of related work experience. Related experience: community engagement programming and outreach, extension programming, community development, program management, marketing or related field
Certification and Licensure
Valid Nevada driver’s license.
Schedule and Travel
Variable work schedule, including occasional evening and weekend events.
Regular local travel (within 100 miles) and statewide travel for events.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with social media management, graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite), and event coordination.
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
