The Nature Conservancy Kansas Chapter is hiring for a 6-month Stewardship Technician position. This position will work primarily at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, an 11,000-acre TNC preserve that is managed cooperatively with the National Park Service. The Stewardship Technician will participate in a range of preserve duties - fireline construction, prescribed fire, bison roundup preparation, invasive species management, native seed collection & processing - with a special focus on developing our control program for invasive old world bluestems (Bothriochloa). While short term, this position is being hired as a CP3 and we are looking for someone that can work with partners, develop ID guides to help with some very tricky field identification, and really take our current control program and run with it.
