Do you enjoy botanizing and identifying plants. Do you have an interest in plant and fire ecology?

This new and rare permanent seasonal subject to furlough (Career Subject to Furlough*) with permanent status benefits maybe the perfect fit.  Your interest in participating in prescribed fire, and having or obtaining a red card, can potentially expand your 6 months into the fall and spring burn seasons.

Read more in flyer below and watch for the job to open May 8th  2023.

Do you feel that you don’t check off every box in the  requirements?   Please apply anyway! Studies have shown that marginalized communities - such as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), women, and LGBTQ+ - are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. The National Park Service wants an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible workplace– so if you think you fit this role but you worry that your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, please still consider submitting an application. Just be sure your resume details and demonstrates  our specific experience, especially with plant identification, field sampling work, and fire ecology.
