Webinar Description: Prescribed fire is one of the most effective tools land managers and landowners have for maintaining fire-dependent ecosystems, improving habitat, and reducing hazardous fuel buildup that increases wildfire risk. Yet, coordinating multiple burns while waiting for the right weather conditions can be challenging. The Prescribed Burn Planner (PBP) was originally developed to help users plan and prioritize prescribed burns by providing weather forecasts for individual burn units, thus hopefully reducing the number of missed burn windows. After receiving funding support from USDA Forest Service, Southern Region (R8), PBP version 2 was created to take prescribed burn planning to the next level. Join Karen Cummins and Dr. Holly Nowell from Tall Timbers as they demonstrate PBP v2’s new capabilities.
