Eastern US Oaks: A Fire Ecology and Management Survey

Thursday, January 21, 2027 | 11am-12:30pm ET

The relationship between hardwood oaks (Quercus) and fire varies across the Eastern United States, shaped by regional landscapes, management objectives, cultural values, and personal experience. In this session, we will explore how oaks and fire interact across different ecosystems and geographic regions, examining their roles in fire management, the challenges and successes of oak management, and what the future may hold for these important species in a changing environment.

This panel discussion has pending approval for 1.5 Category 1 CFE's by the Society of American Foresters.
