Arizona Tribal Wildland Fire Summit

December 1-3, 2026 at Wild Horse Pass Resort (Gila River Resorts & Casinos)

Hosted by Southwest Fire Science Consortium in partnership with Gila River Indian Community

The 2026 Arizona Tribal Wildland Fire Summit is building off years of engagement with Tribes in Arizona and across the Southwest. We expect 150 people from Tribes, Tribal institutions and businesses, non-governmental organizations, private industry, and federal, state, and local governments.

We will be in the field and conference room each day, networking and learning. This year’s topics include:

• Celebrating 30 years of Geronimo Hotshots – Legacy of tribal leadership and wildfire sovereignty

• Collaborative fuels treatments and wildfire with Gila River Indian Community

• Culture of the Gila River Indian Community

• Workforce development and training

• Environmental education

• Learning about wildfire in desert and riparian areas

• Indigenous and Cultural Fire in the Southwest
