November 12th, 2024 from 10am to 11am AKST
AFSC webinar presented by Tom Paragi. Paragi retired from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in 2024 after nearly 25 years as a wildlife biologist working partly on forest and fire management and wildlife-habitat interactions in the boreal forest. Much of the prior decade he worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on several refuges in Alaska that included studies of fire effects on wildlife habitat and populations. His presentation will review case studies on moose response to large prescribed burns and give perspective on how fuels management in some situations can yield several positive externalities including habitat.
