From July 7 to 11, 2025, the Forest Fire Research Center of ADAI at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) will organize the 1st Summer Course on Wildfire Research.
This Summer Course is designed for researchers interested in the fundamental aspects of fire behavior modelling, which have implications for fire safety and the wildland-urban interface. The course will also discuss the use of new technological tools to characterize and manage forest fuels and decision-support systems for fire risk management.
Building on the extensive research experience of the Forest Fire Research Center of ADAI, this Summer Course offers a great opportunity to learn and exchange knowledge on the course topics. The participants will have hands-on experience using the unique experimental tools available at the Forest Fire Research Laboratory (LEIF) and will visit areas affected by recent wildfires in Portugal.
The course will be held in English, and the number of vacancies is limited.
