  • Fees are waived for limited situations such as: Sponsors & Exhibitors, Invited Award Winners & Plenary Speakers, or other pre-approved reason. If you select "Waived," you must write the reason in the box on the next page.

    Note: Waived fees do NOT apply to: volunteers, oral & poster presenters, or special sessions speakers.

AFE Members Receive a Discount!

To receive your discount, register with the email we have on file for you, then when prompted, log in with your password, and you'll be able to receive the discounted registration rates. To join or renew your membership before you register, Click Here.

 

Why are some of the registration options grayed out? 

Each registration option is assigned to specific levels of AFE membership. Non-members will see all AFE discounted rates as gray. Professional members will see student rates as gray, etc. If your membership is overdue, you will only be able to select non-member rates. You only can register for the options that apply to your AFE membership level. Once a member logs in, the appropriate registration options will then turn black and you can then register and receive the membership discount.  

 

The 2nd Applied Fire Science Workshop

We will be making some changes to our usual format for this event. Workshops will be integrated into the whole week rather than having them only on the first day of the event. Click Here to see full workshop details on our website.

There will be three kinds of workshops, trainings, and courses:


1) Rx 310 Introduction to Fire Effects: Tuesday - Friday afternoons and full-day field trip Saturday; students must attend field trip to receive certificate. Pre-registration required. NWCG Certificate upon completion. $60 fee (includes the cost of required field trip).


2) Sign-up workshops: we have four workshops available that require you to sign-up at the time you register for the Fire Congress. There may be pre-requisites or other requirements. These are available first-come, first-served, and if the workshop fills up you will be placed on a waitlist. Instructors will communicate with you prior to the event. There will not be a cost for these workshops.


3) Drop-in workshops: At this event we will offer for the first time the opportunity to attend workshops, trainings, and courses as part of the regular selection of activities in a day. No sign-up is required, and these will all be free of charge. See our website for a developing list of offerings. There will not be a cost for these workshops.

 

We Have 7 Exciting Field Trips!

Field trips will all be held on Saturday Dec. 2nd, except the Big Cypress trip which leaves on Friday and is an overnighter. The cost for Field Trips is $60 (Big Cypress has additional costs). Volunteer Opportunities for Students

Students can get reduced fees when they volunteer for work shifts at the conference. Simply choose the volunteer option and we’ll get in touch with you. In the event that we have more volunteers than needed, priority will go to current SAFE members.


Requirements for Speakers

All speakers must be registered AND PAID in full by Sept. 21 in order to be guaranteed a spot in the program. 

 

FAQ’s about Payment:

What if my employer is paying for my registration?

We recommend that each employee register for themselves, and then they will be emailed an invoice upon completion of the registration form.  Simply forward the invoice link to your employer, they will be able to access the total amount due and can pay online.

 

What if I can’t pay at the time of registration?

You will still be issued an invoice, even if you are unable to pay when you register. The invoice can be paid at your convenience, however, we strongly recommend that you pay it as soon as possible. AFE reserves the right to increase your conference fees if you do not pay during the time block in which you registered. For example, if you sign up during early bird registration, please pay your fees by July 31st. If you are an AFE member, you can access your account at any time by logging in.

 

What if I don't have a PayPal Account?  How do I pay by credit card?

We use PayPal as our credit card processor, so even though the option exists on the payment page, you do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit card. In almost all cases, federal credit cards can be processed using this method.  On the registration form click on “pay online” which will take you to a PayPal payment page; look for the link where you can "pay as a guest" by credit card. 

 

Other Payment Options:

You may also pay by check or Purchase Order.  Checks can be made out to Association for Fire Ecology and mailed to us at:  PO Box 50412, Eugene, OR  97405.  

 

What if my employer requires you to be a vendor?

If your employer needs to set us up as a vendor, that's no problem. Have them contact us at office@fireecology.net and we can complete the paperwork very quickly.

 

Refund Policy

Full Refund minus $50 fee if cancelled by Nov. 1, no refunds after that date.
